terre d’Oc was set up in 1995 one exquisite summer evening in the Cevennes. François and Françoise Lemarchand wanted to introduce the ochres of Provence to the public through a collection of objects and designed boxes of ochres, stencils, sundials, drawing pastels, a mushroom game, an introductory kit for tree-grafting, a garrigue rock-rose perfumed cicada.
Then in 1997 an idea came to light : a meeting between the Orient and Provence by marrying the perfumes of Grasse, essential oils from Provence to the oriental fumes of incense through a collection of home fragrances whose scents would stem from collective memory.
The Mémoire d’un instant collection was born : Siesta under the fig-tree, Nature after the rain, Winter tales by the fireside, An autumn tea party, A summer evening in Provence… Tissue paper in shimmering colours hand-wrap the fragrances elegantly, a “hand-made” signature which is the label and brand of all our creations and which gives a traditional and unique character to our products.
Perfume and memory, perfume and emotions, perfume and imagination, these are the main themes of all our creations : a few drops of perfume sprayed into the room or in the hollow of a perfume-burner and a whole forgotten world of memories emerges on the perfume notes… Incense, spray fragrances, pillow mists, reed perfume diffusers, candles, scented pencils, wardrobe fragrances, scented fans are the stars of these moments filled with emotion !
